Demonstrasi Kontekstual Modul 3.1. Diklat CGP: Pengambilan Keputusan Dilema Etika

Halo, sahabat pendidik yang hebat. Berjumpa kembali dengan saya. Pada kesempatan ini saya akan membagikan cerita saya tentang pengalaman saya dalam mengambil keputusan dilematik atau dengan kata lain keputusan yang serba salah karena kedua pilihan benar tetapi saling bertentangan. Dilakukan benar, tidak dilakukan juga benar. Baik, to the point saja, ya. Silakan simak cerita berikut.

Belajar modul 3.1. dari Diklat Calon Guru Penggerak tentang pengambilan keputusan adalah ilmu baru yang luar biasa dan sangat bermanfaat bagi saya. Mengapa? Karena dalam kehidupan sehari-hari seringkali saya berhadapan dengan beberapa situasi yang terjadi dalam waktu yang sama sehingga sulit untuk mengambil sebuah keputusan. Suatu situasi yang membuat salah serba salah seperti makan buah simalakama karena semua keputusan yang diambil adalah benar. Situasi seperti inilah yang disebut sebagai dilemma etika.

Dilema etika adalah suatu situasi yang terjadi ketika seseorang harus memilih antara dua pilihan dan kedua piliahn tersebut secara moral benar tetapi saling bertentangan. 

Berikut merupakan contoh dilema etika yang saya pernah saya alami. Kejadian ini terjadi waktu anak saya yang ke dua berusia 2.5 tahun. Karena terkena hepatitis typosa, dokter meminta agar anak saya opname di rumah sakit. Waktu itu akhir semester dan saya sebagai wali kelas sehingga saya harus membuat rapot untuk siswa saya. Keputusan menjadi sulit ketika saya harus memilih di antara dua pilihan. Pilihan pertama adalah mengerjakan rapot di sekolah dan harus meninggalkan anak saya yang masih kecil di rumah sakit. Pilihan kedua, saya tidak mengerjakan rapot sehingga saya bisa menunggui anak saya yang dirawat di rumah sakit. Saya berpikir keras waktu itu bagaimana caranya rapot dapat saya kerjakan tetapi saya tetap bisa menunggui dan merawat anak saya di rumah sakit. Akhirnya, saya menghubungi kepala sekolah untuk minta izin menyelesiakan rapor di rumah sakit sambil menunggui anak saya dan untungnya kepala sekolah menyetujui keputusan saya. Saya juga menghubungi wakil urusan kurikulum menyampaikan apa yang sudah saya komunikasin dengan kepala sekolah dan meminta bantuan wakil kepala sekolah urusan kurikulum untuk memintakan tanda tangan rapor kepada kepala sekolah, memasukkan lembaran-lembaran rapor ke dalam map rapor, dan membagikan rapor tersebut kepada siswa saya. Saya juga meminta tolong untuk menyiapkan kertas khusus untuk mencetak rapor yang akan diambil oleh suami saya. Kemudian saya meminta suami saya untuk mengambil kertas khusus untuk mencetak rapor dari sekolah dan membawakan laptop serta printer ke rumah sakit. Pada saat saya menunggui anak saya yang dirawat, saya mengerjakan rapot. Setelah selesai mencetak rapot, keesokan hari saya meminta suami saya untuk mengantarkan cetakan rapor itu ke sekolah dan menyerahkannya kepada wakil urusan kurikulum agar dibantu untuk memintakan tanda tangan dari kepala sekolah serta memasukkan lembar rapor dalam map buku rapor dan membagikan rapor tersebut kepada siswa saya.

Dari dilemma di atas, sebenarnya tanpa saya sadari saya sudah mengambil keputusan berdasarkan paradigma individu melawan masyarakat, yaitu pilihan untuk mementingkan anak saya (individu) atau murid-murid saya (masyarakat). Saya tidak ingin mengorbankan keduaanya sehingga saya mengambil keputusan bagaimana caranya saya dapat merawat anak saya yang sedang sakit di rumah sakit dan tanggung jawab saya untuk membuat rapor dapat saya laksanakan dengan baik.

Prinsip yang saya ambil adalah berpikir berbasis hasil akhir yaitu bermanfaat bagi sebanyak-banyaknya orang. Dengan keputusan tersebut, anak dan murid-murid saya tidak ada yang dirugikan, demikian juga pihak sekolah tetap terjaga nama baiknya karena dapat memberikan laporan hasil belajar kepada orang tua siswa sesuai dengan kalender akademik.

Jika dianalisis dari langkah pengambilan keputusan, keputusan yang saya ambil adalah tepat.

  1. Mengenali nilai-nilai yang saling bertentangan, yaitu nilai tanggung jawab kepada sekolah dan kasih sayang kepada anak.
  2. Menentukan siapa yang terlibat dalam situasi tersebut, yaitu anak saya, suami, murid, kepala sekolah, dan wakil kepala sekolah urusan kurikulum.
  3. Mengumpulkan fakta-fakta yang relevan dengan situasi tersebut, yaitu fakta saya harus bertanggung jawab atas tugas saya untuk menyelesaikan rapor dan tanggung jawab dan kasih sayang saya untuk merawat anak saya yang sedang sakit sehingga membutuhkan perhatian lebih.
  4. Pengujian benar atau salah, yaitu dengan uji legal, uji regulasi, uji intuisi, uji publikasi, dan uji panutan. Dari uji legal, keputusan tersebut tidak melanggar hukum. Dari uji regulasi atau standar profesional, keputusan tersebut tidak melanggar kode etik saya sebagai guru. Beradasakan uji intuisi, keputusan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa saya memiliki tanggung jawab terhadap institusi/ sekolah saya, yaitu dapat menyelesaikan tangung jawab sebagai wali kelas untuk membuat rapor.  Hasil uji publikasi, yaitu seandainya keputusan tersebut diunggah di media massa, maka saya akan merasa aman dan tidak merasa malu. Hasil uji panutan/ idola, yaitu rekan sejawat yang saya idolakan jika ada di posisi saya pasti akan melakukan hal yang sama seperti yang saya lakukan.
  5. Uji paradigma benar lawan benar, yaitu antara kepentingan keluarga (individu)  dan kepentingan pekerjaan (masyarakat) yang harus dipenuhi semua.
  6. Melakukan prinsip resolusi, yaitu berpikir berbasis hasil akhir sehingga keputusan yang saya ambil adalah keputusan yang manfaatnya bida dirasakan banyak pihak, meliputi saya, kelaurga saya, murid saya, dan sekolah saya.
  7. Investigasi trilemma, yaitu saya mencari opsi lain dari dua pilihan yang ada antara tidak menyelesaiakan rapor di sekolah agar dapat menunggui anak saya yang opname di rumah sakit atau menyelesiakan rapor di sekolah tetapi harus meninggalkan anak saya yang masih kecil yang rawat inap di rumah sakit. Keputusan yang saya ambil adalah opsi ketiga, yaitu dapat menyelesaikan rapor tetapi tidak di sekolah melainkan di rumah sakit sehingga saya bisa sekaligus menyelesaikan rapor dan menunggui anak saya di rumah sakit.
  8. Buat keputusan, yaitu menunggui anak saya sambil membuat rapor di rumah sakit dengan minta izin dari kepala sekolah, minta bantuan wakil kepala sekolah urusan kurikulum dan suami.
  9. Lihat lagi keputusannya dan refleksikan, maka keputusan yang saya ambil adalah keputusan yang terbaik saat itu karena anak saya sangat memerlukan kehadiran saya di sampingnya saat sakit di rumah sakit dan menyelesaikan rapor sehingga sekolah dapat melaksanakan kewajibannya untuk menyampaikan rapor atau laporan hasil belajar siswa tepat waktu sesuai dengan kalender akademik sekolah saya.

Dilema etika seperti contoh di atas akan terus saya jumpai dan tidak bisa dihindarkan dalam meniti liku-liku kehidupan. Oleh karena itu, saya akan terus belajar bagaimana membuat suatu keputusan yang cepat dan tepat. Saya akan mempraktikkan 4 paradigma, 3 prinsip, dan 9 langkah untuk mengambil keputusan yang tepat sehingga tidak menimbulkan penyesalan di kemudian hari. Tentu saja tidak harus semua paradigma, prinsip maupun langkah digunakan  dalam sekali waktu ketika berada pada suatu dilemma etika, namun gunakan paradigma, prinsip dan langkah yang sesuai dengan situasi dan kondisi dilema etika yang dihadapi.

Saya tahu bahwa menerapkan pardigma, prinsip, dan langkah pengambilan keputusan bukan sesuatu hal yang mudah dilakukan oleh karena itu saya akan terus mencoba belajar menggunakan paradigma, prinsip, dan langkah ini dalam setiap pengambilan keputusan. Selain itu, penting bagi saya untuk belajar bagaimana mengukur efektifitas pengambilan keputusan. Efektifitas pengambilan keputusan dapat diukur dengan menerapkan tiga prinsip, yaitu seberapa besar manfaat yang dapat diambil dari keputusan yang diambil bagi banyak orang, seberapa sesuai keputusan itu dengan peraturan, dan seberapa jauh keputusan itu memanusiakan manusia. Tentu saja saya juga menyadari bahwa mengambil keputusan secara tepat seperti itu bukan perkara mudah sehingga saya memerlukan bantuan beberapa pihak. Ketika dilemma etika terkait dengan keluarga, maka saya akan minta bantuan kepada suami, anak-anak, orang tua, saudara, dsb tergantung dari dilema etika yang saya hadapi.

Pengambilan keputusan menggunakan paradigma, prinsip, dan langkah di atas dapat diterapkan dalam berbagai konteks. Dalam konteks sekolah, saya akan melakukan hal yang sama. Jika menemui dilemma etika terkait dengan sekolah, saya akan menerapkan 4 paradigma, 3 prinsip, dan 9 langkah sehingga keputusan yang saya ambil adalah yang paling tepat dan bijaksana bagi murid maupun kolega saya sehingga semua pihak tidak ada yang merasa dirugikan.

Ketika dilema etika terkait dengan sekolah, maka saya akan minta bantuan kepada kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, rekan sejawat, siswa, orang tua siswa, dsb tergantung dari dilema etika yang saya hadapi. Seperti contoh dilema etika di atas, saya melibatkan kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah urusan kurikulum, dan suami saya dalam mengambil keputusan.
