Filosofi Pendidikan Ki Hajar Dewantara: Sekolah adalah Tempat Menanamkan Benih Nilai dan Kebudayaan
Guru ibarat petani atau tukang kebun. Murid ibarat tanaman. Sekolah ibarat sawah atau kebun. Petani hanya dapat merawat, memupuk, membasmi hama yang mengganggu pertumbuhan tanaman sehingga tanaman tersebut akan tumbuh subur dan menghasilkan buah yang berlimpah yang bermanfaat bagi umat manusia. Petani hanya bisa merawat tanaman sehingga berbuah sesuai kodratnya. Petani tidak dapat memaksakan tanaman padi berbuah pisang. Demikian juga dengan guru. Guru hanya bisa menuntun murid sesuai kodratnya dan tidak bisa memaksakan sesuatu berdasarkan kehendak guru. Selain itu, guru harus dapat menciptakan sekolah sebagai tempat menyemai benih-benih nilai dan kebudayaan yang sesuai dengan kodrat anak.
Anak memiliki dua jenis kodrat, yaitu kodrat alam dan zaman. Kodrat alam berarti lingkungan alam maupun sosial tempat anak tinggal, sedangkan kodrat zaman menunjukkan kapan atau waktu anak tinggal. Sebagai pendidik, guru memberikan keteladanan, memberikan bimbingan dan dorongan agar budi (cipta, karsa, dan rasa) dan pekerti (jasmani atau raga) anak dapat tumbuh dan berkembang secara optimal sesuai dengan kodrat alam dan zamannya.
Selain mendidik, guru juga harus mengajar. Guru harus mampu membekali anak dengan sikap, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan yang dibutuhkan anak sesuai dengan kodrat alam dan zaman anak. Sebagai contoh, anak yang terlahir pada era society 5 maka anak memiliki kodrat zaman atau era society 5 sehingga guru dituntut untuk mampu membekali anak dengan sikap, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan yang dibutuhkan agar anak dapat menjalani hidupnya di era society 5 sebagai individu maupun sebagai anggota masyarakat dengan selamat dan bahagia.
Singkat kata, guru harus mampu menciptakan lingkungan kelas dan sekolah yang sesuai untuk menumbuhkan budi pekerti anak secara optimal. Guru harus menciptakan suasana kelas dan sekolah yang membuat anak merdeka belajar, yaitu anak termotivasi dari internal dirinya dan cakap dalam mengontrol dirinya untuk menanamkan budi pekerti atas kemauan sendiri dan bukan paksaan dari luar.
Untuk menghadapi tantangan saat ini, murid harus dibekali dengan nilai-nilai yang terangkum dalam profil pelajar Pancasila, yaitu beriman dan bertakwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa dan berkahlak mulia, mandiri, bernalar kritis, kreatif, bergotong royong , dan berkebhinekaan global.
Malpraktik dalam Penanaman Disiplin pada Murid
Penanaman karakter bukan hal mudah. Perlu kedisiplinan tinggi agar mampu menanamkan karakter yang lebih baik. Namun sayangnya, banyak guru yang ternyata selama ini masih melakukan malpraktik dalam menerapkan kedisiplinan pada murid. Guru dan sekolah menetapkan peraturan sekolah dan tidak jarang peraturan tersebut dibuat tanpa melibatkan murid sama sekali, sementara murid wajib menaati peraturan guru atau sekolah yang telah ditetapkan. Murid yang melanggar peraturan sekolah akan mendapatkan sanksi atau hukuman dengan alasan agar murid jera dan tidak akan melakukan pelanggaran lagi. Apakah benar memberikan hukuman kepada murid yang melanggar peraturan sekolah adalah salah satu bentuk malpraktik dalam dunia pendidikan? Mari kita simak ulasan selanjutnya mengenai perbedaan antara stimulus response dan peran control.
Prinsip dasar dari stimulus response adalah pemberian penghargaan dan hukuman. Murid yang melakukan sesuatu sesuai dengan nilai yang oleh guru diyaknini baik akan diberi penghargaan, sebaliknya murid yang melalukan sesuatu yang menurut guru dinilai tidak baik akan diberi hukuman. Mengapa penghargaan dan hukuman tidak baik dalam mewujudkan kedisiplinan pada murid? Coba anda mengingat-ingat kembali suatu peristiwa yang anda pernah alami ketika mendapatkan penghargaan maupun hukuman dari guru atau sekolah.
Apa yang anda rasakan ketika mendapatkan penghargaan? Apakah anda merasakan adanya keinginan untuk melakukan kembali sesuatu agar mendapatkan penghargaan? Apa yang anda rasakan dan akan lakukan ketika anda sudah tidak menerima penghargaan itu kembali? Anda akan kecewa dan berhenti melakukannya kembali jika tidak menerima penghargaan atas perbuatan anda, bukan? Itulah yang disebut dengan ketergantungan. Orang yang terbiasa melakukan sesuatu karena berharap mendapatkan penghargaan atau pujian akan berhenti melakukan hal serupa ketika penghargaan itu tidak diterima lagi.
Sebaliknya, apa yang anda rasakan ketika anda bersalah dan mendapatkan hukuman dari guru atau sekolah? Kemungkinan besar anda akan terus mengingat betapa anda sakit hati kepada guru tersebut dan tidak menutup kemungkinan timbul rasa kebencian di hati anda terhadap guru tersebut meskipun anda tahu maksud guru tersebut baik yaitu untuk menanamkan kedisiplinan pada murid. Hukuman dalam menerapkan disiplin anak akan menimbulkan permusuhan, memperburuk hubungan antara guru dan murid. Selain itu, dengan adanya hukuman, murid melakukan sesuatu karena menghindari hukuman, bukan karena dorongan dari internal murid itu sendiri. Jika hukuman itu tidak ada, maka murid akan berhenti melakukan kebiasaan baik tersebut.
Lalu, bagaimana cara efektif agar murid dsiplin? Cara efektif menanamkan kedisiplinan murid adalah dengan menerapkan disiplin positif pada anak.
Peran dan Nilai Guru Penggerak dalam Penerapan Disiplin Positif
Saat ini, profil pelajar Pancasila harus diwujudkan agar murid kelak tumbuh menjadi generasi yang beriman dan bertakwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa dan berkahlak mulia, mandiri, bernalar kritis, kreatif, bergotong royong , dan berkebhinekaan global. Dengan terwujudnya profil pelajar Pancasila, murid akan menjadi generasi sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas dan siap membangun bangsa dan negara.
Untuk mewujudkan profil pelajar Pancasila membutuhkan guru yang terampil dan kompeten. Dalam hal ini, guru pengegrak memiliki peran penting dalam mewujudkan profil pelajar Pancasila karena guru penggerak memiliki lima peran sebagai berikut.
- Menjadi pemimpin pembelajaran. Menajdi pemimpin pembelajaran berarti guru mampu melaksanakan pembelajaran yang ebrpihak kepada murid dan mampu menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang aman, nyaman, dan menyenangkan bagi murid.
- Menggerakkan komunitas praktisi. Dalam komunitas praktisi, guru pengegrak dapat berbagi praktik baik kepada guru lain.
- Menjadi coach bagi guru lain. Sebagai coach, guru penggerak mampu mendeteksi aspek-aspek yang bisa ditingkatkan dari rekan sejawat.
- Mendorong kolaborasi antar guru. Guru penggerak memetakan para pemangku kepentingan di sekolah dan membangun dialog antar para pemangku kepentingan untuk ebrkolaborasi.
- Mewujudkan kepemimpinan murid. Guru penggerak mampu mendorong murid untuk meningkatkatkan kemandirian dan kepemimpinan di sekolah. dalam hal penegakan displin positif, peran guru penggerak untuk mewujudkan kepimpipinan murid memegang peran sangat penting. Guru penggerak harus mampu mendorong murid untuk menumbuhkan motivasi internal dalam menanamkan karakter seperti pada profil pelajar Pancasila.
Untuk menjalankan peran guru pengegrak tersebut, guru pengegrak harus memiliki nilai seperti mandiri, reflektif, kolaboratif, inovatif, dan berpihak kepada murid.
Penerapan Budaya Positif dalam Mewujudkan Profil Pelajar Pancasila.
Profil pelajar Pancasila akan dapat terwujud dengan menerapkan budaya positif di sekolah. Untuk membangun budaya yang positif, sekolah perlu menyediakan lingkungan yang positif, aman, dan nyaman agar murid-murid mampu berpikir, bertindak, dan mencipta dengan merdeka, mandiri, dan bertanggung jawab. Budaya positif dapat diwujudkan dengan menerapkan disiplin positif pada murid.
Disiplin positif adalah disiplin yang kuat yang berasal dari motivasi internal murid itu sendiri. Murid merdeka, yaitu lepas dari perintah orang lain dalam melakukan kebiasaan baik dan murid cakap memerintah diri sendiri untuk melakukan kebaikan. Displin diri menuntut control diri yang baik yaitu kemampuan menguasai diri untuk memilih Tindakan sesuai dengan nilai yang diyakini. Tindakan baik yang dilakukan oleh murid tidak lagi karena ingin mendapatkan penghargaan atau menghindari hukuman, tetapi meraka melakukan kebaikan karena mereka memang ingin menjadi orang yang baik yang melakukan kebaikan.
Tujuan dispilin positif dengan demikian adalah sebagai berikut.
- Menanamkan motivasi intrinsik pada murid murid, yaitu untuk menjadi orang yang mereka inginkan dan menghargai diri sendiri dengan nilai-nilai yang mereka percaya.
- Motivasi intrinsik berdampak jangka panjang, motivasi yang tidak akan terpengaruh pada adanya hukuman atau hadiah. Mereka akan tetap berperilaku baik dan berlandaskan nilai-nilai kebajikan karena mereka ingin menjadi orang yang menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai yang mereka hargai.
Posisi Kontrol Guru
Untuk menerapkan displin positif, guru harus mampu memegang peran control sebagai manajer, yaitu menjadi mentor agar murid bertanggung jawab atas dirinya sendiri. Guru tidak lagi mengambil posisi control sebagai penghukum, pembuat merasa bersalah, teman, maunpun monitor atau pemantau.
Kebutuhan Dasar Manusia
Untuk menerapkan displin positif, guru harus mampu mengenali kebutuhan dasar apa yang dibtuhkan oleh murid. Kebutuhan dasar tersebut meliputi hal berikut.
- Kesenangan, yaitu kebutuhan untuk merasa senang.
- Kebebasan, yaitu Kebutuhan memilih, mandiri, otonomi, mengendalikan arah hidup
- Penguasaan, yaitu Kebutuhan untuk diakui atas kemampuan yang dimiliki
- Cinta dan kasih sayang, yaitu Kebutuhan diterima, hubungan sosial yang baik, dicintai dan disayangi
- Bertahan hidup, yaitu Kebutuhan fisiologis, seperti makan, kesehatan, rumah, seks
Keyakinan Kelas
Untuk menerapkann displin positif, guru dapat Membuat keyakinan kelas daripada Membuat peraturan. Keyakinan kelas adalah nilai- nilai kebajikan atau prinsip-prinsip universal yang disepakati bersama secara universal. Dengan keyakinan akan lebih memotivasi seseorang dari dalam, atau memotivasi secara intrinsik. Keyakinan kelas dapat dibentuk dengan pernyataan keyakinan kelas abstrak, universal, positif, tidak terlalu banyak, dan dapat diterapkan di lingkungan tersebut dan semua warga kelas berkontribusi dalam curah pendapat dan bersedia meninjau kembali keyakinan kelas dari waktu ke waktu
Segitiga Restitusi
Untuk menerapkan displin positif, guru dapat menerapkan segitiga restitusi. Restitusi adalah proses kolaboratif yang mengajarkan murid untuk mencari solusi untuk masalah, dan membantu murid berpikir tentang orang seperti apa yang mereka inginkan, dan bagaimana mereka harus memperlakukan orang lain (Chelsom Gossen, 1996). Segitiga restitusi terdiri dari tiga tahap sebagai berikut.
- Mentsabilkan identitas dengan cara memberikan pernyataan seperti setiap orang pasti pernah emlakukan kesalahan dan kamu bukan satu-satunya yang pernah melakukan itu.
- Validasi Tindakan yang salah dengan mengajukan pertanyaan seperti kamu tentu punya alasan mengapa melakukan hal itu dan adakah cara yang lebih efektif untuk mendapatkan apa yang kamu butuhkan.
- Menanyakan keyakinan, yaitu dengan mengajukan pertanyaan keyakinan kelas apa yang telah kita sepakati dan kamu ingin mejadi orang yang seprti apa.
Kesimpulan
Tujuan pendidikan menurut Ki Hajar Dewantara adalah menanamkan karakter. Krakter profil pelajar Pancasila perlu diwujudkan dengan menerapkan budaya positif. Untuk menerapkan budaya positif, guru penggerak memiliki peran penting terutama dalam mewujudkan kepemimpinan pada murid. Mewujudkan kepemimpinan pada murid bermakna bahwa murid melakuakan kebiasan baim karena dorongan atau motivasi internal dari murid itu sendiri, bukan akrena diperitah oleh orang lain, bukan karena mengharapkan penghargaan atau menghindari hukuman. Murid melakukan kebiasaan baik karena mereka ingin menjadi orang yang baik. Untuk mewujudkan disiplin positif, guru dapat melakukan beberapa hal, yaitu membuat keyakinan kelas, mengenali dan memenuhi kebutuhan dasar murid dan melakukan restitusi. Displin positif akan terwujud dengan baik jika ada kolaborasi dengan semua pemangku kepentingan yang terlibat.
