Halo, pembaca budiman. Apa kabar? Semoga semua dalam keadaan baik tidak kurang suatu apapun. Tetap patuhi protokol kesehatan agar pandemi Covid-19 segera usai.
Pada kesempatan ini, saya akan berbagi refleksi tentang aktivitas saya pada Diklat Calon Guru Penggerak angkatan ke-5 Kabupaten Sleman pada minggu ke-13. Refleksi kali ini saya menggunakan model 4F (Facts, Feelings, Findings, Future) yang dikembangkan oleh Dr. Roger Greenaway.
- Facts (Peristiwa): pada bagian ini saya akan bercerita tentang pengalaman saya mengikuti pembelajaran pada minggu ini dan hal baik yang saya alami. Saya juga akan bercerita tentang hambatan atau kesulitan saya dalam proses pembelajaran minggu ini ini dan bagaimana saya mengatasi masalah tersebut.
- Feelings (Perasaan): pada bagian ini saya akan menceritakan bagaimana perasaan saya selama mengikuti alur merdeka belajar pada minggu ini. Saya juga akan bercerita mengapa saya merasakan hal itu.
- Findings (Pembelajaran): pada bagian ini saya akan bercerita tentang apa dan hal baru apa yang saya dapatkan dari proses pembelajaran yang saya ikuti.
- Future (Penerapan): di sini saya akan berbagi cerita tentang apa yang bisa saya lakukan dengan lebih baik jika saya melakukan hal serupa di waktu yang akan datang. Saya juga akan bercerita tentang aksi atau tindakan yang akan saya lakukan setelah belajar dari peristiwa ini.
Senin & Selasa, 15-16 November 2021
Pada hari ini saya mengikuti kegiatan Calon Guru Penggerak (CGP) pada alur 2.2..a.4.1 Eksplorasi Konsep Modul 2.2 Pembelajaran Sosial Emosional. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan kali ini diharapkan CGP dapat menunjukkan pemahaman tentang kesadaran penuh (mindfulness) dan penerapan lima kompetensi sosial emosional (kesadaran diri, pengelolaan diri, kesadaran sosial, keterampilan berhubungan sosial, dan pengambilan keputusan yang bertanggung jawab). Saya berharap setelah mempelajari modul ini saya menjadi lebih paham dan dapat menerapkan ilmu yang saya dapatkan untuk mengelola aspek sosial emosional diri sendiri sekaligus dapat menerapkannya pembelajaran sosial emosional pada murid secara lebih sistematik dan komprehensif.
Pada alur ini, saya kembali diingatkan tentang pembelajaran holistik dalam filosofi budi pekerti yang dikemukakan oleh ki Hajar Dewantara.
Pendidikan budi pekerti mengajarkan tentang triksakti menurut Ki Hajar Dewantara yang meiluputi pembelajaran budi (cipta, karsa, dan rasa) dan dan pembelajaran lahir yang menghasilkan tenaga atau perbuatan (pekerti). Dengan pendidikan budi pekerti akan terwujud murid yang memiliki “Kebersihan budi, yaitu bersatunya cipta, rasa, dan karsa yang terwujud dalam tajamnya pikiran, halusnya rasa, kuatnya kemauan yang membawa pada kebijaksanaan.”
Untuk melaksanakan pendidikan budi pekerti, pemerintah mengeluarkan Permen Kemendikbud No. 20 tahun 2018 terkait dengan Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter (PPK). PPK adalah gerakan pendidikan di bawah tanggung jawab satuan pendidikan untuk memperkuat karakter peserta didik melalui harmonisasi olah hati, olah rasa, olah pikir, dan olah raga dengan pelibatan dan kerja sama antara satuan pendidikan, keluarga, dan masyarakat sebagai bagian dari Gerakan Nasional Revolusi Mental (GNRM). PPK berorientasi pada berkembangnya potensi peserta didik secara menyeluruh dan terpadu, keteladanan dalam penerapan pendidikan karakter pada masing-masing lingkungan pendidikan; dan berlangsung melalui pembiasaan dan sepanjang waktu dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
Dalam rangka mencapai harmonisasi dalam berolah rasa, satuan pendidikan dapat menerapkan pembelajaran sosial emoisonal (PSE). PSE sangat diperlukan dalam pembelajaran untuk mengajarkan kemampuan mengelola emosi (kesadaran diri), menetapkan dan mencapai tujuan positif (pengelolaan diri), merasakan dan menunjukkan empati kepada orang lain (kesadaran sosial), membangun dan mempertahankan hubungan yang positif (keterampilan membangun relasi), dan membuat keputusan yang bertanggung jawab (pengambilan keputusan yang bertanggung jawab). Ketika murid memiliki lima kompetensi sosial mesional (KSE) tersebut, mereka akan menjadi orang yang berkarakter baik.
Untuk menerapkan PSE diperlukan kolaborasi dari semua pemangku kepentingan sekolah. Guru harus mampu menjadikan sekolah sebagai tempat pertukaran pengetahuan tentang berinteraksi dengan diri sendiri, orang lain, dan dunia. Pengalaman-pengalaman tersebut membantu murid untuk memahami diri mereka sendiri dan orang lain. Dengan kemampuan memahami diri sendiri dan orang lain, murid mampu mengambil keputusan yang baik dan bertanggung jawab. Ketika murid memiliki kompetensi sosial emosional yang baik, mereka akan menganggap bahwa berkesempatan belajar di sekolah sebagai anugerah sehingga mereka mengikuti proses pembelajaran baik secara akademik maupun non-akademik di sekolah dengan senang hati dan kesadaran penuh.
Pada alur ini, saya juga menyimak sebuah video tentang bagaimana cara kerja otak. Plastisitas otak memungkinakan otak terus berkembang. Otak lama pada bagian amigdala merupakan bagian otak lama terkait dengan stress. Stress menyebabkan seseorang tidak mampu berpikir dengan tenang dan jernih sehingga tidak mampu mengambil sikap atau keputusan yang tepat dalam menghadapi tantangan atau permasalahan.
Otak prefrontal adalah bagian otak yang membuat seseorang mampu membedakan mana yang baik dan mana yang tidak dan menbutuhkan proses berpikir lambat. Dengan proses berpikir lambat seseorang akan mampu mengambil keputusan dengan baik dan tepat. Latihan kesadaran penuh akan menstimulasi prefrontal bekerja sehingga setelah melakukan praktik mindfulness seorang individu akan mampu mengambil keputusan dengan tepat.
Latihan mindfulness bermanfaat untuk mengembangkan bagian otak lobus frontal sehingga pikiran dan perasaan lebih tenang sehingga dapat kembali fokus untuk melanjutkan aktivitas dengan perasaan lebih rileks dan bahagia. Berbagai kegiatan berbasis kesadaran penuh (mindfulness) dalam sehari-hari memungkinkan seseorang membangun kesadaran penuh untuk dapat memberikan perhatian secara berkualitas yang didasarkan keterbukaan pikiran, rasa ingin tahu (tanpa menghakimi) dan kebaikan hati (compassion) yang akan membantu seseorang dalam menghadapi situasi-situasi menantang dan sulit. Sebelum memberikan respon dalam sebuah situasi sosial yang sulit, kita berhenti, bernapas dengan sadar, mengamati pikiran, perasaan diri sendiri maupun orang lain, mengelola emosi yang muncul, hingga dapat membuat pilihan/mengambil keputusan yang lebih responsif, bukan reaktif.
Memahami materi modul ini memang bukan hal mudah. Butuh membaca berulang-ulang agar paham materi ini. Membuat mindmapping dari materi ini sepertinya dapat dijadikan alternatif untuk memudahkan ingatan dan pemahaman mengenai PSE dan KSE. Namun, praktik langsung PSE dan mindfulness tampaknya menjadi alternatif solusi paling efektif untuk mempelajari materi ini. Tentu, dengan memahami materi ini sangat bermanfaat dalam mengajarkan kepada murid tentang bagaimana memahami diri sendiri dan orang lain sehingga mereka akan tumbuh menjadi individu yang berkarakter, penuh kebijaksanaan dalam bersikap dan berperilaku dan tercapainya kesejahteraan atau wellbeing.
Mempelajari modul ini memang terasa berat tetapi menyenangkan karena manfaat dari mempelajari materi yang didapatkan jauh lebih besar daripada pengorbanan waktu, tenaga dan pikiran yang tercurah untuk mempelajari materi ini. Saya merasa lebih baik dalam mengelola emosi saya terutama ketika menghadapi berbagai tugas sebagai guru dan tugas tambahan lainnya yang benar-benar menyita waktu, tenaga, dan pikiran. Dengan praktik mindfulnessa, saya menjadi lebih rileks ketika saya merasa dikejar-kejar oleh pekerjaan yang tidak pernah ada habisnya yang selama ini memaksa saya dalam keadaan tidak bisa menikmati me time sekalipun di hari Minggu atau hari libur lainnya. Adanya adalah bekerja, bekerja, dan bekerja.
Pada waktu yang akan datang, saya berencana menerapkan PSE agar murid-murid saya memiliki kompetensi sosial emosional sehingga menjadi individu yang memiliki karakter baik dan dapat berhasil menjalani hidupnya dengan baik dan bahagia. Saya akan terus belajar menerapkan PSE dengan mengajarkannya secara spesifik dan eksplisit, mengintegrasikan KSE dalam proses pembelajaran, mengubah kebijakan dan ekspektasi sekolah terhadap murid, dan mempengaruhi pola pikir murid tentang persepsi diri, orang lain, dan lingkungan.
Selain itu, saya akan mencoba menerapkan mindfulness (berhenti sejenak, menghirup napas dalam-dalam, megamati sekitar, dan melanjutkan) ketika perasaan saya sedang tidak baik-baik saja karena situasi sulit dan menantang yang harus saya hadapi. Saya juga akan menerapkan mindfulness pada murid saya ketika mereka tampak bosan dan lelah saat mengikuti pelajaran. Saya akan ajak mereka untuk berhenti sejenak, menarik napas dalam-dalam, mengamati dirinya dan orang lain terkait belajar sebaga anugerah, dan melanjutkan belajar dengan suasana hati dan pikiran lebih rileks dan fokus.

Pada sesi ruang kolaborasi Modul 2.2. secara berpasangan, kami mendiskusikan bagaimana implementasi PSE. Melalui diskusi diharapkan kami mampu menguraikan bentuk penerapan pembelajaran 5 kompetensi sosial-emosional sesuai dengan jenjang pendidikan kami, yaitu jenjang SMP. Dalam diskusi, kami menguraikan penerapan PSE melalui empat cara, yaitu mengajarkannya secara spesifik dan eksplisit, mengintegrasikan KSE dalam proses pembelajaran, mengubah kebijakan dan ekspektasi sekolah terhadap murid, dan mempengaruhi pola pikir murid tentang persepsi diri, orang lain, dan lingkungan.
Kesulitan yang kami hadapi adalah saat harus membuat rencana PSE dengan mengubah kebijakan dan ekspektasi sekolah terhadap murid, dan mempengaruhi pola pikir murid tentang persepsi diri, orang lain, dan lingkungan. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, kami mencoba mencari referensi lain terkait dengan dua hal tersebut.
Dalam diskusi berkali-kali kami mengalami kebuntuan. Kami tidak tahu harus bagaimana menyelesaikan tugas sehingga kami terpaksa membuka kembali modul 2.2. yang sudah kami pelajari. Namun, usaha kami masih belum banyak membantu. Akhirnya setelah melalui diskusi panjang, kami sedikit menemukan titik terang dan titik temu sehingga kami bisa melanjutkan menyelesaikan tugas kami. Dari kesulitan yang kami hadapi, kami tersadar bahwa penerapan PSE memang memerlukan kolaborasi yang baik sehingga kesulitan-kesulitan yang dialami akan dapat diselesaikan dengan lebih cepat dan tepat.
Ke depan, saya akan mencoba menerapkan PSE dengan meminta dukungan kepala sekolah terlebih dahulu, kemudian saya akan mencoba menerapkan PSE dalam kelas saya dan saya akan membagikan praktik baik saya dalam mengimplementasikan PSE kepada rekan sejawat saya dengan harapan rekan sejawat akan mengikuti saya dalam menerapkan PSE di kelas masing-masing dan di sekolah, yaitu terkait dengan mengubah kebijakan dan ekspektasi sekolah terhadap murid.
