Jurnal Refleksi Minggu ke-12 Modul 2.2: Pembelajaran Sosial Emosional

Apa kabar, pembaca budiman? Semoga semua dalam keadaan baik dan bahagia. Jangan lupa tetap patuhi protokol kesehatan meskipun sudah vaksin dan level PPKM sudah mulai turun agar pandemi Covid-19 segera usai.

Kali ini, saya akan berbagi cerita tentang refleksi saya dalam mengikuti kegiatan Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Calon Guru Penggerak (CGP) Angkatan 3 di Kabupaten Sleman pada minggu ke-12.  Saya akan menggunakan model refleksi yang dikembangkan oleh Driscoll dan Tea (2002).

Pertama saya akan mendeskripsikan peristiwa yang terjadi dengan menjawab beberapa pertanyaan WHAT seperti berikut ini.
– Apa yang terjadi?
– Apa yang saya lihat/dengar/alami?
– Apa reaksi saya pada saat itu?
– Apa yang orang lain lakukan pada saat peristiwa itu terjadi?

Langkah kedua, saya akan  menganalisis dari peristiwa yang terjadi dengan menjawab pertanyaan SO WHAT seperti berikut.
– Bagaimana perasaan saya pada saat peristiwa itu terjadi?
– Apakah yang saya rasakan sama/berbeda dengan orang yang mengalami kejadian
yang sama?
– Apakah saya masih merasakan perasaan/dampak yang sama jika dibandingkan
dengan perasaan/dampak langsung setelah peristiwa?
– Kecenderungan apa yang saya amati dari diri saya ketika menghadapi peristiwa
serupa?
– Mengapa saya bisa memiliki kecenderungan tersebut?
– Setelah mengalami peristiwa tersebut, apa hal yang berubah dari pendapat,
pemikiran, atau apapun yang Anda yakini sebelumnya?

Ketiga, saya akan menjawab pertanyaan NOW WHAT untuk mendeskripsikan tindak lanjut dari peristiwa yang terjadi sebagai berikut.
– Apakah kejadiannya akan berbeda jika pada saat itu saya mengambil langkah yang berbeda?
– Di mana saya bisa mendapatkan informasi tambahan agar bisa siap ketika
menghadapi peristiwa serupa di masa depan?
– Dukungan apa yang saya butuhkan agar bisa menindaklanjuti refleksi saya?
– Bagian mana yang sebaiknya saya kerjakan lebih dulu?
– Setelah Anda melakukan pembelajaran ini, apa hal baru yang ingin Anda bagikan
kepada rekan atau lingkungan Anda?Berikut ini penjelasan lebih lengkap terkait refleksi yang saya buat menggunakan model Driscoll.

WHAT

Minggu ini saya memasuki modul 2.2. tentang pembelajaran sosial emosional pada alur merdeka belajar Mulai  dari Diri dan Eksplorasi. Sebelum memasuki materi pembelajaran sosial emosional, saya diingatkan kembali tentang filsafat pendidikan Ki Hajar Dewantara tentang pendidikan karakter.

Ki Hajar Dewantoro

“Pendidikan Budi Pekerti berarti pembelajaran tentang batin dan lahir. Pembelajaran batin bersumber pada “Tri Sakti”, yaitu: cipta (pikiran), rasa, dan karsa (kemauan), sedangkan pembelajaran lahir yang akan menghasilkan tenaga/perbuatan.  Pembelajaran budi pekerti adalah pembelajaran jiwa manusia secara holistik. Hasil dari pembelajaran budi pekerti adalah bersatunya budi (gerak pikiran, perasaan, kemauan) sehingga menimbulkan tenaga (pekerti). Kebersihan budi adalah bersatunya cipta, rasa, dan karsa yang terwujud dalam tajamnya pikiran, halusnya rasa, kuatnya kemauan yang membawa pada kebijaksanaan.”

Sejalan dengan pemikiran Ki Hajar Dewantoro mengenai pendidikan karakter, pemerintah telah mengeluarkan Permen Kemendikbud No. 20 tahun 2018. Permen tersebut mengatur tentang Pendidikan Penguatan Karakter pada Satuan Pendidikan Formal. Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter (PPK) adalah gerakan pendidikan di bawah tanggung jawab satuan pendidikan untuk memperkuat karakter peserta didik melalui harmonisasi olah hati, olah rasa, olah pikir, dan olah raga dengan pelibatan dan kerja sama antara satuan pendidikan, keluarga, dan masyarakat sebagai bagian dari Gerakan Nasional Revolusi Mental (GNRM). 

Untuk mencapai harmonisasi oleh rasa, olah oikir, dan olah raga diperlukan sebuah metodologi pembelajaran yang tepat, salah satu di antaranya adalah pembelajaran sosial emosional.

Pembelajaran Sosial dan Emosional adalah pembelajaran yang dilakukan secara kolaboratif oleh seluruh komunitas sekolah. Proses kolaborasi ini memungkinkan anak dan orang dewasa di sekolah memperoleh dan menerapkan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap positif mengenai aspek sosial dan emosional.

Pembelajaran sosial dan emosional bertujuan:

  1. memberikan pemahaman, penghayatan dan kemampuan untuk mengelola emosi (kesadaran diri)
  2. menetapkan dan mencapai tujuan positif (pengelolaan diri)
  3. merasakan dan menunjukkan empati kepada orang lain (kesadaran sosial)
  4. membangun dan mempertahankan hubungan yang positif (keterampilan membangun relasi)
  5. membuat keputusan yang bertanggung jawab.  (pengambilan keputusan yang bertanggung jawab)

Implementasi Pembelajaran Sosial dan Emosional (PSE)  dapat dilakukan dengan 4 cara:

  1. Mengajarkan Kompetensi Sosial Emosional (KSE)  secara spesifik dan eksplisit
  2. Mengintegrasikan Kompetensi Sosial Emosional (KSE) ke dalam praktik mengajar guru dan gaya interaksi dengan murid
  3. Mengubah kebijakan dan ekspektasi sekolah terhadap murid
  4. Mempengaruhi pola pikir murid tentang persepsi diri, orang lain dan lingkungan.

Pendekatan SEL yang efektif seringkali menggabungkan empat elemen yang disingkat  SAFE

  1. Sequential/berurutan:   Aktivitas yang terhubung dan terkoordinasi untuk mendorong pengembangan keterampilan
  2. Active/aktif: bentuk Pembelajaran Aktif yang melibatkan murid untuk menguasai keterampilan dan sikap baru
  3. Focused/fokus: ada unsur pengembangan keterampilan sosial maupun  personal
  4. Explicit/eksplisit: tertuju pada pengembangan keterampilan sosial dan emosional tertentu secara eksplisit.

Pembelajaran sosial emosional dapat dilaksanakan dengan menerapkan kesadaran penuh atau  mindfulness. Mindfulness bertujuan untuk mewujudkan  wellbeing atau kesejahteraan hidup. Menurut kamus Oxford English Dictionary, well-being dapat diartikan sebagai kondisi nyaman, sehat, dan bahagia. Well-being (kesejahteraan hidup)  adalah sebuah kondisi individu yang memiliki sikap yang positif terhadap diri sendiri dan orang lain, dapat membuat keputusan dan mengatur tingkah lakunya sendiri, dapat memenuhi kebutuhan dirinya dengan menciptakan dan mengelola lingkungan dengan baik, memiliki tujuan hidup dan membuat hidup mereka lebih bermakna, serta berusaha mengeksplorasi dan mengembangkan dirinya.

Pembelajaran sosial emosional yang berbasis kesadaran penuh harus dilakukan secara terhubung, terkoordinasi, aktif, fokus, dan eksplisit diharapkan dapat mewujudkan kesejahteraan hidup (Well-being) ekosistem sekolah. Perhatikan gambar berikut.

Kompetisi sosial emosional

Pembelajaran sosial emosional dengan kesadaran penuh penting dilakukan karena dapat mewujudkan wellbeing. Menurut Mcgrath & Noble, 2011, murid yang memiliki tingkat well-being yang optimum memiliki kemungkinan yang lebih tinggi untuk mencapai prestasi akademik yang lebih tinggi, kesehatan fisik dan mental yang lebih baik, memiliki ketangguhan (daya lenting/resiliensi) dalam menghadapi stress dan terlibat dalam perilaku sosial yang lebih bertanggung jawab.

Berbagai kegiatan berbasis kesadaran penuh (mindfulness) dalam sehari-hari memungkinkan seseorang membangun kesadaran penuh untuk dapat memberikan perhatian secara berkualitas yang didasarkan keterbukaan pikiran, rasa ingin tahu (tanpa menghakimi) dan kebaikan hati (compassion) yang akan membantu seseorang dalam menghadapi situasi-situasi menantang dan sulit.  Hubungan antara mindfulness dengan kompetensi sosial emosional dapat dijelaskan dengan gambar berikut.

Menurut Hawkins (2017), latihan berkesadaran penuh (mindfulness) dapat membangun keterhubungan diri sendiri (self-awareness) dengan berbagai kompetensi emosi dan sosial dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Contohnya, sebelum memberikan respon dalam sebuah situasi sosial yang menantang, kita berhenti, bernapas dengan sadar, mengamati pikiran, perasaan diri sendiri maupun orang lain, mengelola emosi yang muncul, hingga dapat membuat pilihan/mengambil keputusan yang lebih responsif, bukan reaktif. Dengan mindfulness, kita dapat mengembangkan kompetensi sosial emosional seperti yang dijelaskan dalam gambar berikut.

Kompetensi Sosial Emosional (KSE) berfokus pada 5 kompetensi seperti yang terdapat pada Gambar berikut.

  1. Pengelolaan emosi dan fokus
  2. Empati
  3. Kemampuan kerja sama dan resolusi konflik
  4. Pengambilan keputusan yang bertanggung jawab
  5. Pengenalan emosi

SO WHAT

Minggu ini saya memasuki modul 2.2. tentang pembelajaran sosial emosional pada alur merdeka belajar Mulai  dari Diri dan Eksplorasi. Pada alur ini saya merasa senang karena memperoleh pengetahuan baru tentang pembelajaran sosial emosional. Selain itu, saya merasa penasaran seperti apa sih penerapan  pembelajaran sosial emosional di dalam kelas. Saya juga merasa bersyukur dapat sanpai pada tahap ini karena pada tahap ini saya memperoleh banyak pengetahuan tentang pembelajaran sosial emosional. Saya optimis akan mampu mennerapkan pembelajaran sosial emosional jika modul ini sudah usai saya pelajari.

NOW WHAT

Seetalh mengikuti alur merdeka belaajar jni saya akan terus menjaga susasana hati saya agar selalu senang ketika belajar sesuatu yang berguna. Saya juga akan terus mempertahankan keingintahuan saya ubtuk materi materi berikutnya agar saya tetap semangat belajar.

Selain itu, saya berencana untuk menerapkan mindfulness pada diri saya sendiri karena saya merasakan betapa besar tekanan ekrjat yang saya alami sehingga saya perlu menhmabilt jeda sebentar untuk melakukan mindfulness agar suasan hati tetap positif dan kembali fokus untuk melanjutkan aktivitas saya yang sangat padat. Saya juga akan mempraktikkan mindfulness kepada murid murid saya yang sedang mengikuti pembelajaran di kelqs tatap muka terbatas maupum yang sedang mengikuti Belajar Dari Rumah (BDR).
